Financial giving at Valley View Christian Church can generally be divided into two categories: tithes and offerings.
The Bible teaches us that we worship the Lord with our tithe, which is ten percent of our income contributed to the church on a regular basis. When we feel called to give over and above our tithe, we do so as an offering.
To Enter a Contribution Using Online Giving:
Click the above link to open the Online Giving page in a new tab.
Select either a one-time gift, or recurring amount to be taken from the card information you enter.
Enter the amount you want to give, your email address - so we can send you a receipt - and your card information.
If you choose a recurring gift, you have customizable options available for you to decide the frequency of your gift, and what specific day you want it to be drafted from your account.
After you click the green "give" button on the bottom of the screen, you will receive a confirmation email.
To Enter a Contribution Using Text to Give:
Text any amount to 84321 to give!
To start with a $5 donation, make sure you have your online banking credentials (username and password) with you, or your checking account and routing numbers.
Text "$5" to 84321.
Click the link in your text response. This will take you through the log-in process with our giving platform, PCO Giving, and ask for your bank information.
You can also give using a debit or credit card, but the processing fees are lower when giving through a bank account or ACH transfer, so that is what we recommend.
Once you are set up, you will get a text confirmation, an email confirmation, and an emailed receipt for your first gift!
After set up, you can simply text any amount to 84321 to immediately give.
Texting to give to a specific fund is easy.
Simply text the numerical amount and the name of the fund. For example, texting "5 beyond" to 84321 will donate $5 to our capital campaign.
Does the church pay processing fees when I give online?
Yes. Some fees are higher than others. If you give straight from your checking account by entering your routing and account numbers, we are only charged a small 25¢ fee per donation. If you give via a debit or credit card, however, the fee will be approximately 2.5% - 3% of the donation.
These fees are taken out of the total donation you are giving to the church, not additional to your donation.
Are my donations to Valley View tax-deductible?
Yes. Valley View is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You will receive your yearly giving statement by email (if we have a valid email address for you in our database) or postal mail by the end of January. Call the church office at 972-245-8822 to update your contact information or ask further questions about your giving statement.
As always, consult with your tax advisor to determine whether your donation is tax deductible in whole or in part. Nothing in this communication is intended to constitute legal or tax advice.
What does my gift go towards?
If you do not designate a specific fund, your gift enters the general giving fund. We make the yearly budget available at the end of each fiscal year during the annual Church Update meeting (usually after second service on weekend in August). If you would like to know the current budget breakdown, you are welcome to ask an elder in The Next Room on Sunday mornings after service.
